March Updates

I haven’t posted on here since October 2023! My life as an author and artist has, for the most part, been put on hold since then. I’ve written the odd poem and short story, but overall my attention has been diverted to other parts of my life.

That’s not to say I didn’t take myself seriously as an author during this time. But I suppose, as far as the priorities go, that writing, drawing, and painting fell off the list and never came back.

Well, I’m pleased to say that things are changing. I’m working on The Scarlet Scrolls (the sequel to my fantasy novel The Black Rook), which is a hefty manuscript of over 130,000 words. The editor sent me his edits recently, and I have a LOT to work on. But having worked on those edits these last few weeks, I feel a renewed sense of clarity that writing fiction is something I deeply enjoy. It’s where I want to focus my spare energy.

Anyway, it feels good to write a blog post again. I’ll try to be good and write more in the near future!

For now, I hope you’re keeping well, and if you haven’t already I would really appreciate it if you picked up a copy of The Black Rook.
