I’ve finished Like Pigs! (again)

I have actually lost count of the number of edits I’ve done for my novel, Like Pigs. How ever many it’s been, I can now add another digit to the tally.

Every edit I undertake has a general purpose in mind; often they’re developmental, and other times it’s just a case of line editing a manuscript to polish it up and correct mistakes.

This edit was all of the above, really, and also to expand on the word count by fleshing out the characters and building upon scenes.

I finished this edit at the most opportune moment, as I start my new job tomorrow.

When I started this edit, I didn’t necessarily have that goal in mind, but it’s inadvertently worked out perfectly in terms of time scale.

The next step for me with this manuscript is to sit on it for a few days or weeks, and return to edit it again when I’ve mentally separated myself from the project.

Once it’s undergone another polish, I will approach literary agents with it.
