defeating sadness

One of the best ways for me to steer myself clear from sad thoughts is to keep myself busy. Recently, I’ve been doing just that by focussing on my creative writing and doing little else.

I am currently less than 100 pages away from completing the edit run of my novel, The Black Rook. I will feel such a relief when it’s completed, but for now I need to keep up the hard work. Another motivation behind finishing this edit run is that I will be turning my attention to my clothing brand, The Putrid Hand, once this edited manuscript has been sent back to my publisher. And so, in theory I’ve always got at least one big project to focus on.

In other news, I have recently been accepted by an online magazine called Sirens Call. The lovely people there have accepted my short story, The Door, for their upcoming spring issue.

I’ve started 2022 with optimism and confidence. Hopefully, the rest of the year goes just as well.

It’s crazy to think that the madness of 2021 was less than 2 months ago. I’m so glad to have finished the chapter of that year.

And so, for now, I look forward to the future.
