To Lose Oneself Until Death

It’s easy to lose oneself,
the challenge is to find him,
when all about him trembles
it is easy to lose your way.

The world is loud, obnoxious,
distracts at every turn,
despite the fate you yearn
the way is blocked with brambles.

Entangled in your status,
you sprint and spit, aimless,
the yellow brick road obscured
as you wander off, clueless.

Diverted by sick strangers
you dance till death is imminent
and bleed over the rug
that covered your true path.
